A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and motivated senior palliative care Nurse to join our Supportive and Palliative Care Team at University Hospital Southampton (UHS). This Lead Nurse role is a permanent Band 8a post with responsibility to lead the team of Clinical Nurse Specialists and develop our evolving clinical service for patients at UHS. 
 
You will manage a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists and lead the clinical and strategic development of the service alongside the Lead Consultant and Lead Nurse for Palliative and End of Life Care.  We have a well-established multi professional clinical team comprising B7 and B6 CNSs, 5 Palliative Medicine Consultants and an Associate Specialist alongside Specialty Doctors and our dedicated administrative staff.  Our service offers a broad range of clinical experience across all major clinical specialties with well-developed presence in emergency care, critical care areas, across surgery and medicine as well as the cancer centre. UHS is a large teaching hospital with many opportunities for specialist palliative care to positively impact patient's care and experience.
