We are seeking an advanced clinical specialist sonographer to join our team at University Hospital Southampton . The post-holder will be regarded as an advanced clinical specialist sonographer  in the field of endometriosis and complex gynaecology with skills and ability to scan and report autonomously in this specialist field. They will be able to demonstrate specialised knowledge and expertise to support the specialist  ultrasound clinicians and gynaecology consultants in service delivery.

The post holder will perform and issue ultrasound reports on a range of ultrasound procedures including acute in-patients, providing advanced clinical skills and opinion and diagnosis for patient centred care.

They will exercise the highest degree of professional autonomy in the decision making process and are required to liaise with both Consultants  and multi disciplinary team to improve overall patient outcomes.

They will support the clinical gynaecology lead, operational manager and clinical leads in developing the ultrasound service in line with best practice and national standards .Responsibilities include training, teaching and supervision of trainees, qualified junior staff and assistant staff in both the delivery of the service and their individual development needs in a motivational manner.
