An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Wessex Genomics Laboratory Service (WGLS - Salisbury) for two full time permanent positions as Principal Clinical Scientists, one within the oncology team and one within the rare disease team. This would be a good opportunity for experienced Senior Clinical Scientists to step up to a management role, develop their leadership skills and contribute to service development. HCPC registration and experience in analysis, interpretation and reporting of complex genetic/genomic information are essential requirements of the role. Management experience would also be desirable.
The WGLS is a new integrated genomics testing service formed from the amalgamation of Wessex Regional Genetics Laboratory, now WGLS (Salisbury) and Molecular Pathology, which is based at University Hospital Southampton (UHS). The WGLS is also a member of the Central & South Genomic Laboratory Hub.

Employment will be with UHS, but the role will be based within Salisbury District Hospital. There are plans to relocate to a joint facility with WGLS (Southampton) in the Southampton area once a suitable site has been identified (minimum 1 year notice before relocation).
