We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our / the Point of Care Testing (POCT) department to cover a period of maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to broaden your experience in pathology from a different viewpoint, outside of the normal regular main laboratory environment. We are a well-equipped department, providing an extensive repertoire of investigations from Laboratory Medicine including both Biochemistry and Haematology tests. 

  
You will join the Biochemistry / POCT team who are you’ll be a part of is a diverse group of Scientists and Associate Practitioners, working together to further healthcare and provide the best service possible for patients. The department works closely with colleagues across the hospital to ensure POC devices are safely used such as Theatres, oncology and the diabetes team.

Southampton Biochemistry is a one of the largest labs within the area and provides a significant amount of specialist testing. 

Our service is always expanding and looking to make improvements.

The department is about to undertake the implementation of a new blood glucose and ketone testing system. As part of this role and you will be involved in its this implementation project alongside our routine work.
