University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.
Job Title: PTEN MDT and Data co-ordinator
Contract Type & length : 24 months fixed term contract.
Purpose for Fixed Term: Short term funding
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in research and clinical genetics for the Wessex Region, based in Southampton at the Princess Anne Hospital.
This is a fixed-term, two-year post funded for 50% WTE (18.75 hours/week) by PTEN Research (https://www.ptenresearch.org/), reflecting the organisation's commitment to improving care, surveillance, and research for individuals with PTEN Hamartoma Tumour Syndrome.
As the Network expands, there is an increasing need for dedicated administrative, multidisciplinary team (MDT) coordination, and data management support. This new role has been developed to provide a central point of coordination for MDT activity, patient pathways, clinical data collection, and research support across the PHTS Network.
As part of our team you will facilitate communication between multiple organisations, coordinate national MDT processes, maintain clinical and research databases, support the delivery of network research studies, and ensure that MDT recommendations and clinical outcomes are accurately recorded, tracked, and communicated.
The role combines responsibilities traditionally undertaken by MDT Coordinators, Patient Pathway Coordinators, and Clinical Research Assistants, creating an integrated support function that underpins both the clinical and research activities of the Network.
The PTEN Hamartoma Tumour Syndrome (PHTS) Rare Disease Clinical Network is a developing network that aims to improve care for individuals with this rare inherited cancer predisposition syndrome through a regional and national collaboration of healthcare providers. The Network brings together clinicians, genetics specialists, researchers, and allied health professionals through a national monthly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting. This facilitates coordinated multidisciplinary care, supports surveillance programmes, and promotes research focused on improving outcomes for individuals with PHTS.
University Hospital Southampton (UHS) is the designated lead centre for the Network, which is led by Dr Katherine Lachlan, Consultant Clinical Geneticist. Dr Lachlan has had a longstanding specialist interest in PHTS, developed through both her clinical practice and research undertaken during her specialist training.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
